The first part of the greeting "Glory to Ukraine" was actively used by the Ukrainian national liberation movement at the beginning of the 20th century and during the time of the Ukrainian People's Republic (1917-1920)[1][2]. Option "Glory to Ukraine!" with the answer "Glory to the Heroes!" was adopted as an organizational password-greeting among members of the OUN and UPA at the beginning of World War II

While they did, as you point out, remedy some of the inherent design flaws of the american shuttle, the premise for building it was flawed… Since they could only imagine a military application of the american shuttle they had to have one themselves… not because the course of russian space exploration at the time called for it. It was an extremely expensive vanity project.

@@tusse67 unfortunately the USA is very good at silent sanctions, blacklisting countries forever from commercial commerce. The Russians never had military goals for the shuttle, if they did it would still be in operation. Certainly would have made it far past first flight. Even the worst Russian military developments go into intense use. This is due to USA and the western alliance ability to force other countries out of the commercial market entirely on anything they want to. Leaving them with nothing but a military market. This silent sanctions policy of the western countries commerce has been in force for many decades. China is the only country to have beat that , by using the international ports of Hong Kong and Taiwan, that the western countries can not block them out of. Hong Kong was once China, up to the 40's. Chinas role in helping in WWII set the stage for them to remain in control. But the USA has still been very successful in still forcing China to have a economy based on military commerce as they do all others. However in Chinas case the USA has made a terrible mistake in doing that. Since Chinas was able to continue a commercial commerce economy foothold on the west and grow it using their control of world ports in Asia, the USA attempts to continue to black list them from commercial commerce like they do others has only caused China to divert those Commerce assets from commercial economic gains into the military ones they are forced to do as well by the commercial sales blockade of the west. This resulted in a perfect storm of China forced to growing it military to employ its people and having the assets to do it. In the cases of other countries like Russia, they have used the oil and gas , gas station assets to bolster the military . The USA has made terrible mistakes in forcing many adversaries to build a military based economy using silent sanctions. Now that many are well formed military economies, they themselves can not imagine converting to commercial based economies. This is why he sanctions upon Russia for Ukraine has done nothing. The USA and the western alliance has been excluding them from commerce for decades. Go try to find a Russian product on the USA market. There has never been one. not even when the USA claimed to be mending ties in the 80's. Try to find products of other countries who have been excluded from commence. They are all forced into military commerce to employ and feed their people.

TUPOLEV TU-144 and CONCORDE: The two planes are fundamentally different. The TU-144 had double delta wings which allowed the installation of "slats" all over the leading edge of the wing which was straight. Those of the Concorde were in ogival delta which would make the installation of "slats" too complicated if not impossible. On the TU-144 having the engines close to the fuselage and a wingspan of 28.8 meters (compared to 25.6 for the Concorde) this made it possible to have the significantly larger flaps helped by the ailerons which acted as flaperons. All these devices combined with the retractable "canard" wings of the TU-144 allowed it to have take-off speeds but especially in approach and landings significantly lower than those of Concorde and which made it possible to make the approach circuits and landing integrated with the other planes which was not the case with Concorde. The big problem of Concorde was even its very high speed to take off which generated an enormous energy of projection during a burst of a tire. Another serious design flaw was the very great exposure of the kerosene tanks to projections from the landing gear were even the cause of many incidents but three accidents with significant leakage of kerosene, two in 1979 (one in Dakar and the other in Washington/Dulles). In November 1981, the American National transportation Safety Board (NTSB) sent a letter of concern to the French BEA that included safety recommendations for Concorde. This communiqué was the result of the NTSB's investigations of four Air France Concorde incidents during a 20-month period from July 1979 to February 1981. The NTSB described those incidents as "potentially catastrophic," because they were caused by blown tyres during takeoff. During its 27 years in service, Concorde had about 70 tyre- or wheel-related incidents, seven of which caused serious damage to the aircraft or were potentially catastrophic. The most serious accident was in July 2000 in Gonesse (France) that caused 113 deaths and marked the end of the aircraft's prestige. On the TU-144 such an accident would be impossible or would not have had the same consequences, the landing gear, parts of the engine nacelles and the critical places were made with titanium, but at the time titanium metallurgy was unknown in Western Europe, reason why all the structure of the Concorde was in steel and aluminum this material is very light but very fragile to the shocks. On the second day the flagship demonstration consisted in the low speed of approach and landing of the TU-144 thanks to the flaps of greater dimension, the ailerons which functioned as flaperons and to the "canard" wings retractable in the nose of the plane allowed the TU-144 to make the approach and landing circuits of standard patterns, integrated in the traffic of the other existing planes which Concorde could not do it without needing very special derogations implying extremelly expensive procedures. A Mirage III photo reconnaissance of the French Air Force, the flight of which, apart from all procedures and regulations of the lounge, had not been communicated to the Soviet delegation, came too close to the TU-144 forcing the pilot in a sudden maneuver which caused the rupture of a ‘canard’ wing. In the poor quality 16 mm film from French TV we see that as the Mirage approaches, pieces of the ‘canard’ wing fall. Due to the low speed of the plane the lift on the wings was no longer assured and the crash became inevitable. The most RUclips channels (like this one) describing this crash does not show the approach and contact of the Mirage with the TU-144. Any other explanation is smoking to hide the french responsibilities. The French never provided any photos that the Mirage III claimed to take.
